Stones of the Yarra Valley
Mark first met Maja when they were both selected to participate in an emerging leaders program in Singapore. During the week, delegates were grouped together by country, so they got to spend more time together during the day but also socially afterwards. They went out every night eating, drinking, sightseeing and staying up until the early hours of the morning and then would go to the course after just two hour’s sleep.
Once they returned to Australia their relationship deepened and they became ‘official’.
After a particularly challenging year for Maja, Mark planned a trip to Mclaren Vale in SA to help her get away from it all and to ask a very important question. He organised a pseudo pearl ring from Tiffany’s as a placeholder engagement ring as he knew he would never pick anything Maja would like. Smart man!
They stayed in a stunning vineyard with 360 views and wined and dined all weekend. One night they were enjoying a glass of wine in the spa watching the sun set over the vineyard when Mark asked Maja to watch a video he had made for her. Photo after photo of all the adventures they had shared over the past five years slid by until Mark asked Maja to marry him during a short video at the end. Maja sobbed for about five minutes before she finally looked up at Mark and said, “Did I say yes?! I don’t think I even responded! Yes, yes!”
Their modern, clean, classic wedding mirrored their SA vineyard getaway with a reception at the always stunning Stones of the Yarra Valley.
The long tree-lined driveway leading into Stones of the Yarra Valley is what wedding videographer dreams are made of. Its drama and beauty sets the tone for the rustic Tuscan feel of the venue and the stunning rough-rendered Chapel and Dairy nestled under century-old oak trees.
From Singapore, to SA, to Stones of the Yarra Valley, this adventure isn’t over yet.
Congratulations Mark and Maja.
